Lenovo announces ThinkPhone Motorola, a flagship phone for business

Was it just? Lenovo presented a phone that is business-oriented at CES 2023 in collaboration with Motorola. Motorola’s Lenovo ThinkPhone combines its flagship phone with an array of software features that aim to increase productivity.

Lenovo ThinkPhone has a stunning 6.6 inch OLED screen with 1,080×2,400 resolution (402 ppi), and a remarkable 144Hz refresh rate. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protects the screen from scratches and supports HDR10+ content.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Generation 1 SoC is a bit out of date. It’s joined with either 8GB, 12GB, or 512GB LPDDR5 RAM. There are also up to 512GB UFS 3.1. The phone supports DisplayPort 1.4 and sub-6GHz 5G networks.

The ThinkPhone’s rear camera has three cameras: a 50-megapixel main cam with OIS and a 13-megapixel ultrawide that can be used for macro photography. There is also a depth sensor. A 32-megapixel front camera is also available with autofocus.

The 5,000-mAh battery powers it all. It can be charged at up to 68W using the charger included or wirelessly at 15W. It has an IP68 rating, and passed MIL STD-810H testing. This means it is quite rugged.

Lenovo has added a customized button on the left-hand side of its phone that can be used to launch apps or take actions like turning the flashlight on. The phone’s red color is reminiscent of IBM’s 1992 ThinkPad TrackPoint.

Lenovo claims that the ThinkPhone comes with Android 13 and will be updated for three years with new Android versions. It will also receive four years worth of security updates. Preinstalled on the phone is Moto Secure, which acts as an interface for privacy and security settings. IT managers have remote access to settings such as network alerts and lock screen settings.

The company included many productivity-focused features, as you would expect. The ThinkPhone connects automatically to nearby Thinkpads, which allows users to quickly send text or images to one another. Notifications from the phone also show up on the ThinkPhone. The ThinkPhone can also be used as a webcam similar to Apple’s Continuity Camera.

Motorola’s Lenovo ThinkPhone will be available “in the next months.” Pricing information is still unknown.
