People Events In a unique virtual presentation, Brent the Executive Editor will share insights on how to apply the ethics and philosophy of Objectivism – Ayn Rand’s individualist philosophy – to business in a one-of a kind presentation.
Hamachek will present a talk on “how to bring Objectivist Ethics into your business life” at The Atlas Society’s Clubhouse Happy Hour Tuesday, 4pm ET.
Hamachek will share insights on what he refers to as “applied Objectivism” in the context of business.
He says, “It’s an opportunity to take a philosophy which can seem abstract and show businesspeople what it is like to use.” I also wanted to warn them about the difficulties they’ll face when they use Objectivist ethics within what at best is an ethics-neutral environment.”
Hamachek tells us that this is done to prevent people from saying, “I wish I hadn’t done that.”
Hamachek states that Objectivist ethics can be particularly helpful in business because the “vast majority” of people (and I do not mean all) operate with no defined ethical framework.
He explained that this means they are able to face difficult situations on their own, without any guidance from an ethical system. Their decisions are often inconsistent and random. They may regret their choices later.
Scott Schiff, Atlas Society Operations and Fundraising Coordinator told People Events The organization said that it is looking forward to the event.
“Productive work was fundamentally important to Ayn Rand. This makes Brent’s application Objectivist ethics in business very pertinent, particularly as we see woke companies increasingly abandoning reason in their leadership,” stated Schiff.
Hamachek says, “This is for me a professional bucket-list moment.” Since being first exposed to Ayn Rand’s writings in college, I’ve been deeply influenced by Objectivist ethics. It is an honor to be able to share my experiences with the Atlas Society audience on the backend my career.
Atlas Society is a promoter of “open Objectivism”: The philosophy of reason and achievement, individualism, freedom, and liberty. Many Clubhouse shows feature its scholars.
Schiff says, “It allows the audience to interact in real time with Objectivist-inspired thinkers.”
