Jalen Catalon, a former Arkansas defensive back, has committed to the Longhorns.
Jalen Catalon was a former star safety for the Arkansas Razorbacks. He entered the NCAA Transfer Portal after spending four years living in Fayetteville.
Catalon visited the 40 Acres late December/early Jan and was reported to have been down to Texas A&M, Texas Longhorns and Ole Miss.
Now, he is the second Horns secondary via the Transfer Portal for the Horns. He joins Gavin Holmes, Wake Forest cornerback.
Catalon was with the Razorbacks for four years, but he only played seven games the last two seasons because of injury. In Arkansas’ win against Texas, 40-21, Catalon had eight tackles and played pass defense.
Catalon played 18 games for the Razorbacks and racked up 159 tackles. He also defended nine passes, had five interceptions, and forced three fumbles.
Catalon suffered multiple shoulder injuries in his last two seasons but, when he was healthy, he had proven himself to be one the most reliable safety nets in the SEC.
Catalon was an All-SEC First-Team player before his injuries. He had 99 tackles, three interceptions, and two forced fumbles.

Catalon could be a huge boost for the Longhorns secondary if he can stay healthy in Austin.
