Andrel Anthony Gets Offers from Three Power Five Programs

Andrel Anthony, a Michigan wideout, announced that he would be entering the transfer portal less than 24 hours ago. He’s received three offers by Power Five programs already.

Andrel Anthony, a native of East Lansing, was once a target for Michigan State. It looked as though he would end up being a Spartan. He chose the Michigan Wolverines instead. The number 1 was his choice. He wore No. 1. Anthony caught six passes for 155 yards, and scored two touchdowns in that match. Anthony’s first catch that night, also his first in his career, was 93 yards. It still stands as the longest passing play in U-M history. U-M fans couldn’t wait to see Anthony’s future.

The player who looked the most impressive wide receiver in the MSU game, had only 13 receptions for 173 yards, and one touchdown, over 20 games. This seemed more of an issue with the system than a problem with Anthony, and that is what everyone was hoping would happen in 2022. It didn’t happen at Michigan, so he will try and make his mark elsewhere.

Anthony wrote, “To say that I enjoyed playing at the University of Michigan is an understatement.” This was not an easy decision. Friendships have been made and will continue to last forever. Coach Harbaugh has believed in me from the time I was 13 years old at summer camp. I am grateful to my teammates and the entire ‘crew’ for supporting me each day. Each and everyone of you are special to me and I couldn’t ask for better people to join me on this adventure.

Anthony received offers from Power Five programs, including Miami, Oklahoma and Pitt, just 24 hours after he entered the portal.
